[Bug] iOS — Userscripts directory unexpectedly resets

Hello,

I’ve had this issue for years:

• Install Userscripts on iPhone.

• Set directory to an iCloud folder.

• See that days or weeks later the app resets the folder to the default local iPhone folder and none of your scripts are available.

Is this some issue with iCloud itself?

Would greatly appreciate a fix as I’ve really had it by now!

I am currently on version 1.8.4

The issue I have been experiencing is different from #861 because I do not get the welcome/onboarding message. I only realize that something is wrong when scripts that I rely on stop working and then I open the app and find out the directory has been reset.

I would provide logs, but as far as I'm aware, I would need to receive a certificate from you?

There are two subdivision issues here.

• When you set up an iCloud directory, if you do not set "Keep Downloaded" for the directory, the contents of the directory may be evicted by the iOS, causing the scripts to fail to work. But it should not cause a directory reset.
• The directory reset is because the bookmark cannot be parsed. It's currently know from other feedback that this can happen whether it is iCloud or a local directory, and there is only one code path there. Once the bookmark is deleted, you are bound to see the welcome message unless you open the App first for automatic initialization.

Since version 1.8.3, the logic of deleting invalid bookmark has been cancelled, so occasional unresolved bookmark will no longer cause a directory reset.

Unless the bookmark is indeed no longer valid, then it will return the default directory cause the parsing fails every time.

If this does happen, it's probably another upstream bug, regarding iCloud. It is true that analysis can only be done after seeing the relevant logs.
