Denied-I got everything, id, tanscript, photos of my school

I am experiencing ongoing issues with the verification process. The system only allows me to verify using my webcam, but due to technical limitations, my webcam cannot provide clear or acceptable image quality. This has caused my verification attempts to be repeatedly rejected.

I do have all the required documents ready to prove my academic affiliation, including my student ID, school admission certificates, transcripts, and even a government-issued ID. I am willing to send clear scans or photos of all these documents.

However, each time I try to verify, the system rejects my application citing poor image quality and claims that my name has not been updated correctly. I want to clarify that my name is correct in all documents submitted.

I kindly request an alternative verification method that allows me to upload these documents directly instead of relying on the webcam. I am eager to complete the verification and access the GitHub Student Developer Pack but am stuck because the current process is not accommodating my situation.

I’ve seen this happen before — sometimes the webcam quality just isn’t good enough. The easiest fix is to try using a different device (like a phone or another laptop), or maybe borrow a friend’s device just for the verification step. That usually works.

You must fill in your billing info and GitHub profile with your full name exactly as it appears on your academic transcript. Once done, log out and log back into GitHub before reapplying, as for some reason the application system gets stuck in a loop even after the required information has been updated.

If the photo is blurry, try again until it looks good as also indicated in the Student Developer Pack Application FAQs:

Your first and last name, complete school name, and a date demonstrating current academic affiliation must appear in your document.
Make sure the image is clear and easy to read; if it looks blurry, please take a new photo. 👈

If you keep getting rejected, contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and explain your problem.

Thank you, i used obs cam wich made the photo exact but also my location is wrong here at home 1km away from school but also when i was at my school today. I think this applciation sucks as you get no real chance to talk to a human. Some friends from school needed to try 14x times, its really sad and annyoing

Hey @Morothox, if you are rejected due to an incorrect location even when applying from your campus (or nearby), GitHub may have an incorrect location for your educational institution.

Contact support by opening a ticket here, select "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information e.g. domains or campus location" and explain the issue with your school's location.

Hey, there is also a problem, i cant really talk to support and nothing else is working so i really cant get verifyed. The support doesnt want to do a manually verification, i just need somewhere to send my files and everything is done like it so annyoing,

@Morothox unfortunately, manual reviews are not provided, but you can contact support for help with certain issues, such as an incorrect campus location.

Hey @Morothox , I was facing similar issues when using my webcam. I used my phone to apply for github education, as the camera is way better and it worked.

Wich did you use, i personally think the cam doesnt work since the resoloution is always so bad

I have a Samsung S series phone, so my camera was pretty good and took clear pictures.
I suggest using some other person's phone as I found it way easier to apply using my phone.
