My student pack application didn’t go through.

Hi,

I’m currently a student and can provide valid proof of enrollment, such as a student ID or other official documents. The email I used for my application is real and actively used.

I applied for the GitHub Student Developer Pack before, but my application wasn’t approved and I didn’t receive any explanation. Because of that, I’m not sure if the issue was related to my documents, verification details, or something else.

As far as I know, I meet all the requirements for the Student Developer Pack, and I’m happy to resubmit or provide any additional information if needed.

The Student Developer Pack would be really helpful for my studies, personal projects, and learning software development in general. If possible, I’d appreciate any guidance on why my application was rejected or how I can fix it.

github usually wont give a personalized rejection explanation, most denials are from automated checks that cant confidently verify eligibility or match your details.
make sure you meet the baseline requirements (degree/diploma program, age 13+, personal github account).
submit proof that clearly shows your full name, school name, and at least one current date (current term/enrollment date). blurry or undated documents are a common cause of denial.
use a verifiable school-issued email if you have one; if the domain is unverified or your school email can be issued before paid enrollment, github will often require stronger proof.
confirm your academic email hasnt been used on another github account (it cant be reused for a different account; github also doesnt allow multiple individual accounts, merge accounts if needed).
add these two checks before you reapply:
enable 2FA on your github account. github has mandatory 2FA enrollment for some users (especially accounts that contribute code), and you may be required to enable it to keep full access.
sign out and sign back in after updating any account/billing details, to ensure your session and the education application form pick up the latest info.
then reapply, and upload a clear proof document that shows your current status and at least one date.
