Do I need to enable code security features for small or personal projects?

Hello,

I mainly work on small or personal projects and store my code in GitHub repositories.

I would like to know whether it is necessary to enable advanced code security features (such as code scanning, secret scanning, or dependency alerts), or if the default security settings are sufficient for my type of work.

At the moment, my projects are not public-facing or used in production environments.
