GitHub Copilot error during student registration

Hi everyone,

Hi, i'm a student and I'm trying to register for the GitHub Copilot student plan. I've had four previous errors and corrected them. This time, I filled in all the required information and there were no more errors, but I was still rejected for no apparent reason. Could you please help me identify the cause and how to fix this error? Thank you.

You are unlikely to be verified until you have completed your GitHub user profile with your full name exactly as it appears in your academic affiliation document.

Open GitHub

Go to Settings → Profile
Set Name
Enter your full legal name
It must match exactly what is written on your:
Student ID card OR
School enrollment document
No nickname
No short name
No spelling difference

Add a profile picture
Save the profile.

Log out of GitHub
Then log back in.

WAIT 48 HOURS
Do not apply again before this.
This step is mandatory.

Prepare ONE strong document
Use only ONE of these:

Official student email (edu / ac / edu.pk), OR
Clear photo of student ID card:
Full name visible
Institute name visible
Current year visible
Clear and not cropped
After 48 hours, apply again:
Apply as Student
Upload the document
Submit once only

Do NOT reapply again the same day.

IF IT STILL GETS REJECTED

Wait 72 hours, then contact GitHub Education support and send this message:

"I am a current student. I have updated my GitHub profile with my full legal name exactly as on my academic document and submitted official proof. Please review my application manually."

Sometimes the account needs a "refresh" to recognize the new status once the 72 hours have passed:
Log out and Log back in: This forces a fresh session token that may carry your updated "Student" status.
Visit the Student Portal Directly: Go to education.github.com/pack and click "Get your pack." Even if it looks like you are already approved, clicking this button often triggers the final sync.
Check your Billing Settings: Go to your GitHub Settings > Billing and plans. Look for a section that mentions "GitHub Pro." If it says you are on a "Pro" plan with a cost of $0, then your pack is active, and you can start linking partner accounts (like Canva or JetBrains).
Copilot Specifically: As your screenshot shows, Copilot requires a specific signup via the link provided in that green box. Make sure you use that specific link rather than the standard Copilot landing page.

If you still do not see the benefits by December 31st (tomorrow), it means there was a glitch during the sync process. At that point, you should open a ticket at https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/categories/github-education
